Post-Melloni case law about european arrest warrants : mutual trust finally found ?

In recent years, the execution of European arrest warrants has generated doctrinal and jurisprudential controversies, in particular on the level of the standard of protection of fundamental rights which the legal order of the European Union must safeguard. The recent case law of the European Union judge seems to be oriented towards a balance between the various general European interests involved : ensuring mutual trust between States by ensuring that the fundamental rights of individuals are protected according to a high standard of protection in compliance with the law of the European Union.
